Gamekeeper’s Thumb – the Bane of Writers

In case any of you thought I had writer’s block I did but it was in the form of an inflamed, stomach churning painful tendon in my wrist. Wanting to be self sufficient, I tried to unscrew the knob on a drapery rod while standing on a step ladder. Being only 5’1″ with osteoarthritis, it was a wrong turn (get it turn of the screw).

Well, I didn’t feel the pain right away. And I wanted to believe it was tendonitis and I could treat it myself.

OH, NO after 3 weeks of no sleep and waking up unable to grip anything or use my right hand without tears and wincing, my husband demanded I get an x-ray. Oddly enough the bones looked HEALTHY – except for the calcium on my fingers (something called Heberden’s nodes I inherited from all the women on my mom’s side).

As the physician assistant assessed the look of horror on my face with the diagnosis of Gamekeeper’s Thumb (De Quervain’s tenosynovitis), a wave of terror washed over me. Oh, that’s right, you are a medical librarian so you know about the injections. I did NOT faint. I didn’t shake – not externally – and let me tell you the pain of the FIRST needle going into the tendon to numb it triggered a past life memory of snake poison cursing up the hand. The second shot was equally painful despite the first being an anesthetic. The third just felt like ice. I had my eyes closed. This wasn’t something I wanted imprinted in my mind.

Today is the first day I feel like typing. The worst of the ugly bruising from the injections is almost gone. The horrible feeling in my finger tips is gone.

When you have Mercury in Gemini and you can’t express yourself – IT SUCKS!

My next blog post or page will pick up where I left off about Siddha Medicine and siddhis only I’ll tie in a comparison between Hanuman-ji and Sun Wukong!

Drapery rod injury – Sunday, April 18, 2021 – Moon in Cancer

PAIN started to become unbearable – Thursday, April 22 – Moon in Leo and Scorpio

URGENT CARE – injections – Tuesday, May 11, 2021 – Yasmin’s New Moon Ceremony – left and drove to the clinic

Wednesday, May 19,2021- Moon in Leo and Scorpio- I’d say I’m 95% back to normal

Please let me leave a comment if you’ve ever had this injury AND definitely post if you know about the moon and injuries and recovery.

  2. Now since the Barzakh is something separating what is knowable and unknowable, existent and non-existent, intelligible and unintelligible, affirmed and negated…

It is intelligible in itself, yet it is nothing but the imagined-image (al-khayâl)!

For when you perceive it–assuming you are in a rational state–you know that you have perceived something existent on which your gaze has fallen; indeed you most definitely know that there is absolutely something there. But what is this about which you affirm that it is an existent thing, while at the same time you are also denying that?!

“You were right about some of it, and mistaken about some of it.”

…likewise with what (Muhammad) said to the man who had a dream in which he saw his head cut off and fall to the ground, and then begin to roll around and speak to him.

The Messenger of God mentioned to him that Satan was playing with him. He knew the form of what the man had seen, so he didn’t say to him “your imagination is false”–because what the man saw was real, only he had been mistaken in his interpretation of it.

Therefore every human being in the Barzakh is “hostage to what they have acquired” , imprisoned in the forms of their deeds, until they are raised up from those forms, on the Day of the Rising, in “the state of being of the other world”. And God says the Truth and He shows the right Way.

  4. He related a story regarding the tattoo and according to his words he acquired it after being kept from completing his ?residency as a neurosurgeon, this due to a co-worker reporting several fatigue episodes as evidence of a drinking problem, which led to his dismissal and resultant remedial requirements that he refused to subject himself to. Said he got the tattoo, photographed it (with two birds) and sent it to the physician who filed that reputation killing report.

The year he mentioned that he was involved in multiple Sufi pursuits, was engaged with a project called GnosticsMillenium, was still pursuing Baha’i interests, though ultimately leaving both that and Nizari Ismailism, and was still maintaining whatever Buddhist meditative path he was on (Yellow Hat). As a fairly recent member of the T.O.S. he debated online with Aquino…he also mentioned the involvement with voodun.. at one point after withdrawing from the Sun at Midnight collaboration with L. G. (they had a severe falling out over the age of M’r. G’s wife to be) he sent material on some never before printed Bahai prophecies (another incident with Mr. N. Hazini and to a lesser degree with Ms. C Starr) along with Scientology upper grade material he had accessed somehow. He was to have taken Bayat with Sheikha F., but after the incident with Mr. G. over suspicions concerning the Colombian girl he may have had second thoughts, also there was some secretive initiation in the year preceding 9-11 where something went very very awry and I suspect he eventually sought ‘refuge’ in traditional Catholicism…

at one point he picked up with an old friend with Navajo background and everything was about the new gnostic website. He never spoke an ill word about you and seemed pretty impressed by your accomplishments and concerned over your health… I recollect that he had two tarots cards one being the tower that had to do with an upcoming change of address, just prior to whatever circumstances that convinced him to explore Christianity (posting as QisQos), unfortunately for him a more stable and less scandal prone foundation would have been helpful… I might mention that he was very knowledgeable concerning which groups to avoid and other than overhearing a string of creative expletives directed at the object of his ire… I would have surmised that his most destructive obsession coincided with his exploration of the rather nihilistic practices and viewpoints of Aghori type tantra and associations involving some unsavory group in or near to the Netherlands…

    a longer ramble than anticipated!

    • Not the correct post to write all this but you shed light on a part of Harry Leo Duran’s past I had NOT known about. I had to work full time and Harry didn’t do anything except spend time on newsgroups all day and all night. Do you remember who the Navajo friend was because this is a new twist I had no idea about.

  5. Unfortunately not, other than some association with horses or a horse ranch. Unrelated to the preceding individual, he also anticipated that his father (who was ill at that time) had promised to introduce him to someone in the Navajo tradition, but no details followed. As I had been told his occupation was currently the management of investment portfolios, the thought of questioning the veracity of that based on his erratic schedule never occurred.

He was very elated about El Paso and had planned to extend an invite after consulting with you – ‘my wife never meets anyone over here’… I had a scholarly interest in kabbalah a subject he seemed genuinely disinterested in – but oddly enough he had a similar email profile to someone who had contacted me from the Tom’s River area, and after misplacing this person’s contact information, I ended up sending ‘Corax/o’ a long diatribe to which he responded I don’t believe I am the Corax you are looking for, but if you’d like to continue the argument, I’ll oblige.

Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law!

To any discerning eye, it is certain that the Master Therion Frater
Perdurabo Aleister Crowley (peace and salutations be upon Him) was far
greater and has exercised far more penetrating influence on the minds
and hearts of enlightened modern people everywhere than the
self-styled “Splendour of God” Mirza Husayn Ali Nuri “baha’u’llah.”
Generations of thinkers, occultists, musicians, performers and artists
everywhere have been influenced by Him to a far greater degree than
Husayn Ali could even hope. More of Crowley’s works have been sold,
published, re-published, translated and are known and quoted than his,
and bands like Led Zepplin and Roxy Music (which make Seals & Crofts
look like a third rate Milly Vanily of their time) have even made hits
with themes from Crowley’s works. In many ways the spiritual dimension
of the ’60s Revolution, not to mention the whole postmodern New Age
movement in its current form, is a tribute to the supernal genius of
the great Master Therion whilst Husayn Ali Nuri can claim no influence
on world culture whatsoever. Aleister Crowley was also an Iran lover,
considered Zarathushtra greater than both Jesus and Muhammad, contrary
to the legacy of the heirs of Husayn Ali Nuri who detest Iran and its
    culture and people.

So I submit that Crowley has more of an entitlement to the rank of the
greatest Prophet of the Age than Husayn Ali Nuri “Baha’u’llah.” Whilst
Husayn Ali Nuri wished to imprison people in the cage of his
Kitab-i-Aqdas with some of the stupidest and most impractical laws
ever devised, Aleister Crowley simply stated in His “Book of the Law”
that “Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law!”

Love is the Love, Love under Will, Will under Life!

Corax called him out in some context regarding the above. (1995-2000)… that said, he wasn’t particularly supportive of Aquino and quite detested Wa… / N. H.’s Involvement with Crowley,

Those were the two cards. At one point I imagined I had jinxed myself using them to illustrate an article on tensegrity by Buckminster Fuller, (related to personal integration of the psyche) which I then posted to a shamanistic website. As improbable as this may appear, as a subsequent precautionary measure a contingent of South American shamans and their supporters – later that year planned a trip to NYC to close the ‘hole in the astral that loomed over the city, as one seer stated, claiming forces had been released after ‘dabblers and dilettantes forcibly opened the gates between the worlds’ (paraphrasing here).

Recalling what H. had relayed, I questioned him on the particulars of his anticipated initiation, but in truth he seemed just as shocked… and noted other regional factors such as ‘InfekbinLaden’ / Marik and that dreadful website…

Twyman, who had collaborated with him on a Dagobert’s Revenge related project, an additional two individuals as well from the shamanistic forums, one suffered heart failure the other communicated to me that an immensely negative energy had assaulted him, and he wanted nothing to do with the subject of ’nagualism’ any longer and advised me likewise (he was native to the Baja/La Perla region)

The fallout must have affected H. • Michael McCarron/Les Ismore, that post on TRB does not demonstrate any involvement by NH/WA with Crowleyism. NH/WA was simply trolling the Baha’is for believing their founder to be the greatest thing since sliced bread given that AC, obviously, had a more direct and far-reaching influence on contemporary culture (for good or bad) than Mirza Husayn Ali Nuri Baha’ullah could ever hope to and who to date has had zero influence beyond his own coterie of NWO cultists of various branches who literally believe him to be the supreme manifestation of God for 1 million years!

Despite your pretenses of being in command of an archived timelime, you are also garbling your chronologies quite a fair bit and getting many basic facts wrong.

For the record, Harry and NH/WA first met virtually online as of early 1998 in the context of the Nimatullahi-Safialishahi Sufi order. Because of Harry’s public interest in Ismailism and his Baha’i past – since the Pir of the Nimatullahi-Safialishahi Sufi Order was simultaneously a secret Azali Babi (a Bayani) and had converted me to it at my Sufi initiation – I physically went to NJ in late 1998 and met up with Harry in Tom’s River in order to set up a Nimatullahi-Safialishahi branch in North America as a stepping stone for eventually establishing an official Bayani (Azali Babi) community there. Many subtle hints were dropped to that effect during that period in NJ as well as in Holland; and, I believe, you were even physically present at Harry’s flat in Tom’s River when I said “I am Quddus” as a reference to the 18th Letter of the Living (d. 1849) who Bayanis (Azali Babis) believe ‘returned’ in Subh-i-Azal (d. 1912) and revere. It appears that these hints either went over your head or that you got them; and, if you did, this would then tend to explain why you then proceeded to sabotage the whole effort given your own connection to various schismatic Baha’i groups and, as many suspect, to some intel or surveillance outfit connected to the US government.

In any case, Harry seriously went off the rails – and to some degree was already off of them back in 1998 – but Michael McCarron added fuel to an already smouldering fire that could’ve otherwise been put out altogether by a more sincere actor. Instead the devil literally appeared in the form of McCarron and pushed Harry over the cliff to become the monster he became post-1998.

  7. SUFI BOOKS, NYC

The participants at Masjid al-Farah are Sufis, members of a mystical branch of Islam. They are led by a woman, Sheikha Fariha Friedrich, which is unheard of in traditional Islamic circles, and many of the 150 members are aging baby boomers who are converts from Christianity and Judaism, which gives their gathering something of a Woodstock-revival feeling.

Masjid al-Farah… It has been on West Broadway since 1985, after five years in SoHo.

The order also runs Sufi Books, which has been just down the street since 1992… … Members of the West Broadway mosque, called dervishes, follow the teachings of Muzaffer Ozak, who brought the order to the United States in 1979.

Ann Everds, the bookstore manager, said Sufis draw upon Islam and other influences, including Buddhism and mystical Jewish practices, <———————

    http://www.nytimes.com/1997/08/03/nyregion/sufi-muslims-search-for-the-divine-on-lower-broadway.html

    Sheikh Nur

with regard to the current name of the Manhattan Jerrahis, who recently began calling themselves Nur Ashki Jerrahis (“Ashki” was the penname of Muzaffer Ozak and “Nur” is the Muslim name Ozak had given to his favorite American disciple, Lex Hixon), that Sufi orders would be named after saints, and the last saint of the Jerrahis was its founder Nuredddin Jerrahi: “We do not consider Lex Hixon a saint as some others apparently do.”41 In the Jerrahi tradition, subordinate branches of the order have to renew their affiliation with each new Grand Sheikh after a preceding Grand Sheikh has passed away. Members of Sheikh Tosun’s group claim “that Hixon and Sheikha Fariha have never had a relationship with the head of the order in Istanbul.” According to Dog˘anata, “Lex Hixon broke the lineage and proclaimed his own sect after Sheikh Muzaffer Efendi and never took hand from Sheikh Safer Efendi [Sefer Dal (d. 1999), the grand sheikh succeeding Muzaffer Ozak, MD]. Respecting his decision to separate his path from that of the Jerrahi Order, I guess it would be best not to call them Halveti-Jerrahis.”On the other hand, Sheikha Fariha, who became the leader of the Manhattan group after Lex Nur’s passing, asserts that she “renewed her affiliation with the new Grand Sheikh of the main order in Istanbul, Sefer Dal [after Lex Nur’s passing].”

Although Imam Rauf is a Sufi sheikh, too, he is not of the Nur Ashki Jerrahis: after Sheikh Muzaffer’s passing, Rauf and a handful of more conservative dervishes (including Sheikh Tosun Bayrak, the translator who introduced Philippa de Menil to his beloved sheikh so many years ago) opted not to follow Sheikh Nur. Of Rauf, the Sheikha observes, “He did not go through Nur, and that makes a big difference.”

    webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:FYXPCVsD_8cJ:https://www.bidoun.org/articles/whirling-in-the-west+&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us&client=firefox-a

… vicious power struggle that had raged within this Sufi order between the Sheikha Fariha and the Imam Feisal, who had been a regular prayer-leader there since 1983. It was widely believed that the Sheikha emerged victorious and that Feisal Rauf was thus trying to build his own following, which he clearly did.

    • Harry Leo Duran flew into a bit of a jealous rage when he took me to a dance studio in Times Square in a very seedy building where I think we walked up 3 flights of stairs. I had to purchase a dupattā, to match a shalwar kameez. All I knew was we were going to a Sufi dhikr with drums. I had to kneel or sit during the dhikr and imitate what everyone was doing.
At the end I got up and there was this stunningly beautiful woman whose grandparents were from Yemen. We struck up a conversation and I learned she was Rabia Wadud and had been a dervish for decades. She had converted her living room in Newark, NJ into a khanqah for NONE OTHER THAN Lex Hixon who used to stay over night at her house.
They cooked for him and did his laundry.
      Very poor family
Well, Harry saw me talking and called me over to introduce me to Sherif Baba.

      WHO ARE U?

In my BOOK manuscript, I describe how I immediately knelt like a Knights Templar and bowed my head.
Sherif Baba leaned forward and named me Aliya on the spot. Didn’t take 2 seconds to think about it.
The whole room went up in an uproar. Attendees were PISSED and I mean PISSED.
This never ever is supposed to happen you’re supposed to spend years before a sheik will name you. and
give you the blessing he gave me in Turkish.

Harry was flabergasted. Rabia was stunned. I then gushed off that I had found Lex Hixon’s dervishes
with childlike glee and again Harry and the others wanted to know what the BLEEP I was.

Jealous they be. Nafs they had not conquered.

I received special treatment from the late Penor Rimpoche and his cousin Ven Bhakha Tulku Rinpoche along with the
late Pir of the Netherlands Safi Ali Shahi II. Each time Harry would hear or witness such favoritism and he’d get
miffed. So would most people around me. I have to keep to myself a lot.

When I broached the subject (Spring ’01, I think), he assured me I had not been targeted and seemed sincere to the point of contrition, I recounted that during that entire week the nights resounded with endless Santerian style drumming in the vicinity of my neighborhood, an unsettling yet coincidental novelty… the mystery progressed incrementally, for when I later investigated circumstances concerning the whereabouts of some material I had been promised – I discovered that Nick of D’Court (Holy Blood, HG…) had ended up hospitalized about the same time period

Everything was in Dutch so I had to use Google Translate. None of the thread seemed to make any sense. At first I thought MAYBE just MAYBE donquijotte was the late Harry Duran, but scrolling through, whoever Don Quijotte was, he or she claimed to be an atheist in 2013. In 2013 Harry was immeshed in the Eastern Orthodox Church.
The thread made no sense since there seemed to be no connecting context to anything Harry was “into”.
Your not Claudia Starr* because I talked with her this morning via Facebook.
Susan Maneck has not responded to a message, but she never hid behind a nom de plume and I don’t think she knew much about Harry.
Michael McCarron only lived with Harry for a short time in 1998 and left, I thought, after Qasemi and Nima and Harry and Michael got back from visiting the PIr in the Netherlands.
“Indeed” a link to comments in Dutch, “Not. No” is very cryptic. Not the same writing style yet again.
Please reveal who you are. It’s a total mind F as it is discovering more and more about Harry.
Starr* dropped the bomb when I asked her about Aztec, NM. Harry had told me that SHE had introduced him to the Bahais.
NO, he had joined all by him little self in HS and when she moved there with her husband, they met up with him.

For all his faults, what transpired is a real tragedy, a double tragedy. Someday you may see it as such. Can’t fathom turning in desperation to the Church and running full tilt yet again into another complete moral letdown, this time on the part of the clergy. He tried, you know.

Albuquerque did not go well for him at all – he was traumatized and quite maliciously so, perhaps he kept it to himself.

Rather surprised to see who showed up for the party.
