I love old movies. Grew up on them. Am old now myself. A few years back Netflix had two films with Sophia Loren.
One is the famous Pane, amore e (Scandal in Sorrento) with the famous dance scene.
I took courses in history in Italian, a class in French literature in French, had two semesters of German where we read Faust in Fraktur, and got good enough in Spanish to do translation work as a part time gig. I then studied Japanese, Korean, and Chinese, which never paid off EXCEPT that I can watch foreign films and not always need subtitles.
Seeing clips from this movie triggered a flashback to Sophia’s other film that Netflix aired.
I can’t find this film with English subtitles so scusi ma I did find it in Italian!
ne razumijem de dok govoriś is Croatian for I don’t understand you! Sorry, I love language jokes.
So now that the jokes are out of the way, I didn’t own Camtasia when I watched this on Netflix. I do now. But the film is on YouTube and guess what! YouTube let’s you take screen shots! Yahoooo.
It’s a tad blurry but

I FINALLY captured the reading that is the basis for the movie! Now I just had to find the deck.

And now for the reading! It’s not a great movie. Can’t say I really liked it, but hey it’s got a tarot deck in it!

Does anyone want to check to see if the screenwriters who wrote the script interpreted the cards correctly? YouTube has dubbed versions in French and one in Spanish and the one above in Italian with Croatian subtitles. Let me know in the comments!
